This invention provides a process for the preparation of a compound of formula CF 3 CHFCH 2 X, wherein X is Cl or F, the process comprising contacting 3,3,3-trifluoropropene (1243zf) with a compound of formula AB selected from Cl 2 , Br 2 , I 2 , CIF, ClBr, and ICI and HF in the presence of a zinc/chromia catalyst to produce the compound of formula CF 3 CHFCH 2 X. |
