The device (1) has a plastic housing with housing lower and upper parts (4, 11), and an electrical component is connected with a cooling body (8). The housing has a fastening unit for fastening the housing to a cap rail (24). The lower part has an opening (5), through which the body projects with cooling fins (9) in such a manner that heat produced by the component is directly conveyed to an environment surrounding the housing. An air channel (12) is formed between the body and a rear wall (17) of the lower part to convey a vertical air flow (16) through the device from top down.
