摘要 The purpose of the present invention is to provide a propulsion apparatus for a ship, which can obtain propulsion at a high efficiency by reducing the loss of energy, can prevent damage thereof and reduce maintenance and repair costs due to frequent repair by preventing a net or a rope from being held, can obtain great propulsion by improving a simple power generating structure, and can provide high safety by improving the linear sailing properties of a ship. The propulsion apparatus for a ship comprises an injecting unit, a propelling unit, and an operating unit. The injecting unit comprises: a flexible tube whose both ends are open in order to receive water from the front side and discharge the water to the back side; and a supporting tube which covers and protects the tube along the longitudinal direction and has an open window for exposing part of the tube to the outside. The propelling unit comprises: a rotary shaft which is installed in parallel with the shaft direction of the tube; and a screw shaft member which is formed on the external circumference of the rotary shaft in a spiral shape having one cycle and one pitch of 360 degrees and includes a screw blade designed to have an external diameter for pressing the tube flat at a position of intervening in the tube. The screw blade repeats at every one rotation a motion of forcibly pushing and discharging water entering into the tube from the front side to the back side by beginning compression from one end at the front side of the exposed tube part through rotation and moving the compressed part in a longitudinal direction up to the other end at the back side. The operating unit actuates the rotary shaft of the screw shaft member which forms the propelling unit.
