The present invention relates to a compact keyboard for inputting Japanese letters. A purpose of the present invention is to suggest a method of forming the compact keyboard (hereinafter including a virtual keyboard) with a method of inputting Roman letters as the most favorite Japanese input method of Japanese people to easily input Japanese in a compact device such as a smartphone. The present invention arranges the new arrangement of the Roman letters in order of hiragana which is most easily recognized by users. By using the present invention, the user can easily and quickly input the Japanese letters with the compact keyboard.
