A door opening/closing control system 1 includes a first door drive unit (13R Fig 3A) configured to open/close a first door 14R; a second door drive unit (13L Fig 3A) configured to independently open/close a second door 14L; a door opening/closing control system that opens both doors if a prescribed congestion degree is high or open one door if the prescribed congestion degree is not high. The congestion degree is based on factors such as; position of train along track e.g. midtown areas, time of day e.g. rush hour, number of people waiting to get on or off of the train carriage, whether people are sat on seats opposite the doors or in priority seating, position of doors on the train relative to the entrance/exit of the station. Lights may be provided above each door to indicate their opening/closing. Due to each door being opened independently, this system reduces the amount of heat lost through unwanted open doors. |
