So that a section 9, Fig. 1, of a tower crane may be placed in position by the tackle block 8, a lever 10, one end 12 of which bears and slides on the underside of the jib 5 so that the section can be moved into a vertical position over the tower by the carriage 7, is attached to the section. Successive positions of the section during assembly are indicated at 14, 15, 16, 17. The lever 10 comprises a bar 24, Fig. 2, which is engaged by the crane hook, a roller 25 and guides 26 which abut the jib, and end plates with holes 27 to which the section 9 is attached. Alternatively the connection to a section may be through a triangulated framework which provides means for adjusting the slope of the element secured thereto. |
