The filter device (1) has a hollow cylindrical coalescer (2) whose front side is defined on end ring (3). A ring-shaped filter element (4) is arranged coaxially to the coalescer. The filter element and end ring are held together on an end plate (5), and are formed from plastic. A plastic extension element (7) is formed on a side facing the end plate. The plastic extension element is protruded on front side (6) of the end ring in an axial direction (A), such that the plastic extension element and filter element are embedded into the end plate. An independent claim is included for a method for manufacturing filter device.
