Method for time synchronisation in a radio communication system

A connection between a mobile unit and a first radio station is established (1). The propagation time of first signal from first radio station to mobile unit is determined (2). A connection between mobile unit and second radio station is established (4). The propagation time of second signal from second radio station to mobile unit is determined (5). The synchronization error between radio stations is determined (6) from measured propagation time difference of first and second signals of radio stations for preset signal durations.
