In order to provide a domestic appliance apparatus of the generic type with improved operator control comfort, particularly when inputting continuously varying variables with a large value range, it is proposed that the control unit (14) be designed to determine a characteristic movement variable (20) from a time sequence of detected contact positions (12) in at least one operating mode and to form the control signal (16, 18) as a function of the characteristic movement variable (20).
