The invention relates to nucleic acids that are unique to transgenic corn plant MIR162 and to methods for detecting the presence of DNA of said plants. The invention further relates to corn plants comprising the transgenic genotype of MIR162 and to methods for producing a corn plant by crossing a corn plant comprising the MIR162 genotype with itself or another corn variety. Seeds of corn plants comprising the MIR162 genotype are also objects of the present invention.
