Disclosed are a radio relay method and a relay device using the same. The radio relay method of a repeater in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention includes a step of operating in an amplification-forwarding mode forwarding a received signal by amplifying the same when the repeater is set up; a step of broadcasting identifier information of the repeater; and a step of changing an operation mode to a decoding-forwarding mode if a mode change message is received from a base station. Therefore, the present invention can improve resource efficiency while providing a minimum relay delay time.
