<p>AÂ heat exchanger 2 comprises a duct 4 through which a first fluid flows, and one or more anti-swirl vanes 18 to disrupt the flow of the first fluid. Each vane 18 comprises one or more first flow channels (22, Fig. 2) in fluid communication with the duct and through which a first fluid flows, and one or more second flow channels (24, Fig. 2) through which a second fluid flows to transfer heat between the first and second fluids. The second flow channels are separated from the duct by a channel wall so that fluid cannot flow between the duct 4 and the second flow channels or between the first flow channels and the second flow channels. The duct may comprise a wall containing first and second cavities in fluid communication with the first and second flow channels respectively. The vanes may be attached to a tube 14 located coaxially in the duct. The heat exchanger is particularly suitable for use in an aircraft where the first fluid is air and the second fluid is engine coolant.</p> |
