An electromagnetically actuated transmission shifting element (1) has at least one speed sensor (10) integrated together with at least one coil (7) in the magnet body (8) of an electromagnetic actuator. An emitter wheel (12), which cooperates with the speed sensor, is associated with a transmission shaft (2) to be braked. The speed sensor detects the speed of the transmission shaft to be braked axially or radially.
