The smoking article comprises a first part (13) configured to be movable relative to a second part (11) of the smoking article. The first part (13) has a first engaging surface. The second part (11) has a second engaging surface, the second engaging surface engages with the first engaging surface to limit relative longitudinal movement between the first and second parts. The first part comprises a sleeve and a filter attached to a mouth end of the sleeve; and the sleeve comprises an inner layer in the form of an inner cylindrical tube and an outer layer in the form of an outer cylindrical tube. The inner cylindrical tube of the sleeve and the outer cylindrical tube of the sleeve have a forward end surrounding the second part and a rearward end receiving the filter. The first engaging surface is within the inner cylindrical tube. The first engaging surface and/or second engaging surface is formed on a folded over portion of sheet material.
