Disc brake for a commercial vehicle

The disc brake has a brake caliper on which an application device is arranged for pressing the brake pad against brake disc. An adjusting spindle (2) is positioned in brake caliper in axial direction to compensate for wear-related change of a clearance between the brake pad and disc. A ratchet (7) is rotationally fixed with respect to adjusting spindle. A ratchet tongue (9) is engaged with outer teeth (12) of ratchet.
