TELEVISION SCHEDULE SYSTEM WITH ACCESS CONTROL

A method and system for exercising media access control is described. The method involves receiving a viewer request to schedule a program for storage, wherein the program is scheduled for receipt from a content provider. If a viewer request to block the content provider is received, the system generates for display a warning, in response to receiving the viewer request to block the content provider, to warn the viewer that the program is scheduled for receipt from the content provider to be blocked. Blocking of the content provider occurs in response to receiving the viewer request to block the content provider, however, the blocking does not block the scheduled storing of the program.
