A non-return valve, particularly for a compressor, has elongated channels 9, Fig. 1, in the seat 1 or guard 2 separated from each other by webs 11, Fig. 2, the channels being partitioned by additional webs 12 to produce apertures 13 having a small cross-section to prevent the passage of foreign bodies through the valve. The valve plate 6 is guided by a ring 5 and loaded by helical springs 8 while the total area of the apertures 13 is made equal to that of the channels. In Fig. 3, the valve plate 19 is mounted in an annular recess in the guard 16 and is loaded by a spring plate 20, the channels 22 in the guard being partitioned by webs 23 between rows of adjacent apertures 24. In a modification, transverse slots separated by partitions provide the apertures.</p> |
