The present invention relates to a traffic signal-interoperated tram control system and a method thereof, more particularly to a traffic signal-interoperated tram control system and a method thereof which differently generate a speed code according to traffic signal information of a traffic signal which is installed in an intersection or a crossroad, provides the speed code to an on-board tram device which is to enter the intersection or the crossroad and display the speed code to a crew of the tram. A traffic signal-interoperated tram control system according to the present invention comprises: a traffic signal which is installed in an intersection or a crossroad of rail installed for a tram to run for outputting traffic signal information; a traffic signal control device for controlling the traffic signal, receiving traffic signal information from the traffic signal and delivering the information; a tram control device for receiving the traffic signal information from the traffic signal, generating a speed code according to traffic signal information and outputting the speed code information when a tram detection signal is inputted; a detection and transmission device which is installed in the point before the intersection or the crossroad for detecting a tram, outputting a tram detection signal to the tram control device, receiving the speed code information from the tram control device and wirelessly transmitting; and an on-board tram device.
