The device (100) has a rail piece i.e. jumper (102), placed between adjacent portions (108, 110) of a rail, where the rail piece is electrically insulated from an electrical signal. Insulating profiles (104, 106) are placed at an end of the jumper to insulate the jumper with respect to adjacent portions of the rail. The profile has thickness less than or equal to 2 mm and particularly lower than or equal to 1 mm. Hardness of the profile is equal to that of the rail, where the profile is formed partially in ceramic or insulating alloy.
