The assembly has a transducer comprising an active part (1) to emit and/or receive ultrasonic waves. A conformable shoe (2) contains a coupling medium, and a mechanical interface (8) allows a leak-proof assembly between the transducer and the shoe. The shoe is structured and comprises a side wall (4) and an acoustic window, where a connection radius is measured between the side wall and the window. A lower part of the window comes in contact with an object (12) to be examined. The side wall is flexibly formed to allow displacement of the coupling medium inside the shoe.
