METHOD FOR PERSONAL IDENTIFICATION BY ELECTROCARDIOGRAM

The invention relates to biometric methods of personal identification and can be used in systems of access restriction to technical and software tools, in criminalistics etc. A method for personal identification by electrocardiogram based on analysis of individual characteristics of signals generated by cardiac electrical activity of individual consists in that in order to enhance reliability of identification results used are not time signals but two-dimensional and three-dimensional images (phase portraits) of ECG. Final identification of unknown person is carried out on the basis of automatic or visual comparison of current phase portrait with reference phase portraits of different persons formed at learning stage and stored at database.
