The process comprises: performing hydrogenation of unsaturated hydrocarbon compounds to paraffins by contacting a gas with a hydrogenation catalyst in a presence of hydrogen at 100-400[deg] C to provide a gaseous effluent depleted in the unsaturated hydrocarbon compounds; and performing a catalytic hydrolysis of carbonyl sulfide (COS) and/or carbon disulfide (CS 2) present in the gaseous effluent from the hydrogenation step in a presence of water to provide a gaseous effluent rich in hydrogen sulfide (H 2S) by contacting the gaseous effluent from the hydrogenation step with a hydrolysis catalyst. The process comprises: performing hydrogenation of unsaturated hydrocarbon compounds to paraffins by contacting a gas with a hydrogenation catalyst in a presence of hydrogen at a temperature of 100-400[deg] C to provide a gaseous effluent depleted in the unsaturated hydrocarbon compounds, where the hydrogenation catalyst comprises a metal consisting of palladium, platinum, nickel and cobalt deposited on a porous support; and performing a catalytic hydrolysis of carbonyl sulfide (COS) and/or carbon disulfide (CS 2) present in the gaseous effluent from the hydrogenation step in the presence of water to provide a gaseous effluent rich in hydrogen sulfide (H 2S) by contacting the gaseous effluent from the hydrogenation step with a hydrolysis catalyst consisting of alumina or titanium oxide. The hydrogenation and catalytic hydrolysis steps are carried out in a reactor (1) comprising a hydrogenation catalyst bed and a hydrolysis catalyst bed. The beds are arranged with respect to one another in the reactor so that the gas to be treated comes in to contact with the hydrogenation catalyst bed before the hydrolysis catalyst bed. The hydrogenation and catalytic hydrolysis steps are carried out at a pressure of 0.1-5 MPa and a space velocity of 1000-4000 h -> 1>. The process further comprises treating the effluent rich in H 2S in a unit for trapping H 2S or for converting H 2S into elementary sulfur. A liquid/gas separation of the gas to be treated is implemented before carrying out the hydrogenation step.
|
