The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for controlling a stopping speed of toys for riding based in proportion to a current speed of the toys by inputting natural and brake signals in a motor. According to the invention, the invention is capable of controlling the stopping speed for the toys by combining the natural and electric brake states when stop or driving signal is not inputted. The invention makes different reduction gear ratios considering a traveling speed of the toys so that the toys smoothly stop. The invention advances the stop time of the toys when toys move at high speed and slowly controls the stopping time when the toys move at low speed.
