PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring device enabling an acoustic wave receiver to move in a reduced period of time, and a method for controlling the movement of an acoustic wave receiver.SOLUTION: A target speed at which an acoustic wave receiver 5 is moved during measurement of acoustic waves is calculated by using data on a cycle of pulsed light generation as well as data on the interval of target measuring positions of a specimen. The acoustic wave receiver 5 is moved so that the acoustic wave receiver 5 reaches a first target measuring position at the target speed at a time when a first pulsed light whose acoustic wave is to be measured is generated, and after reaching the target speed, the acoustic wave receiver 5 is constantly moved at the target speed. |
