PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a variation in the amount of developer remaining in a container.SOLUTION: A developer supply device includes: a container body 700 that stores developer; a developer conveying unit 701 that has a scoop-up part 701a rotating integrally with the container body to scoop up a developer below an opening 702 for discharging developer provided to the container body, above the opening, and a guide part 701b guiding the scooped-up developer to move to the opening; and driving means for rotating the container body. The developer supply device further includes a control unit that controls the driving means to be capable of executing a first supply mode driven in first drive conditions, on the basis of a detection result of developer detection means. When the developer detection means detects no developer in the container body, and detects again no developer even after the container body is driven a predetermined time period or more since the previous detection, the control unit changes the first supply mode to a second supply mode to drive the driving means in second drive conditions involving less rotation amount of the container body per unit time than that of the first drive conditions. |
