摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electrically heating type catalyst apparatus in which a surface electrode and a carrier do not peel at surface and increase of electric resistance is suppressed after heat cycle load.SOLUTION: Electrically heating type catalyst apparatus has a surface electrode 31 formed on a carrier 20 consisting of a ceramic supporting a catalyst. The surface electrode 31 has a first metal phase comprising a Ni-Cr alloy (the Cr content is 20 to 60 mass%) or a MCrAIY alloy (M is at least one kind of Fe, Co, Ni), a second metal phase comprising Si as a main ingredient, and an oxide phase containing an oxide mineral having a lamellar structure and dispersed in the first metal phase and the second metal phase. An area percentage occupied by the second metal phase is 10 to 30% and the area percentage occupied by the oxide phase is 40 to 80% and the total of the area percentage occupied by the second metal phase and the oxide phase is 90% or less in a cross section of the surface electrode 31.
