PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to perform access to a computer system resource depending on a security gateway by extremely little interaction with a database as compared with any other method.SOLUTION: In a system and method for managing a computer session, a session (to, for example, perform access to a database) is opened, and a token including a session open time and the length of a session period is generated. When the token is used within a predetermined time window before the session ends, the session is extended by updating the token to reflect a new session period. The time window and the session extension period may be adjusted on the basis of the use configurations of the system. The session may be recursively extended. The token expires when the final session extension expires. |
