The present invention relates to a configuration method, apparatus, base station and terminal. The method comprises the following steps: transmitting triggering information to the terminal; receiving reporting information transmitted by the terminal, wherein the reporting information carries a second remaining time value obtained by the terminal to quantize a first remaining time value of the terminal according to the triggering information and a time quantization table; converting the second remaining time value to a third remaining time value corresponding to the first remaining time value according to the time quantization table; changing a first period value of the Discontinuous Reception (DRX) to a second period value using the third remaining time value; transmitting a first configuration information to the terminal, wherein the first configuration information carries the second period value of the DRX used by the terminal to configure the detection period of the downlink control channel. Therefore, the present invention enables the base station to configure the DRX parameters of the terminal according to the current RBVPT value reported by the terminal, reduces the energy consumption of the video service and meanwhile guarantees the continuous play of the video.
