EXTENSION OF CEC

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technique of "high definition multimedia interface (HDMI)", especially technique of "consumer electronics control (CEC)."SOLUTION: The method of determining transfer rate includes the stages of: selecting a first transfer rate in a plurality of transfer rates; transmitting a message at the first transfer rate on a "consumer electronics control (CEC)" line of a "high definition multimedia interface (HDMI)" network; determining whether or not a confirmation response to the message transmitted at the first transfer rate is received; storing the first transfer rate when the confirmation response to the message transmitted at the first transfer rate is received; and storing a default transfer rate in the plurality of transfer rates when the confirmation response is not received.
