PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make an image formation device quickly transition to a power saving state by an instruction from a user even in a state in which transit to the power saving state is limited.SOLUTION: In the control method for the image formation device, when the image formation device transitions to a sleep state, it is determined whether or not a cause of limiting the transit to a power saving state is detected in response to an instruction that instructs to make a supply state of power transition to the power saving state from a normal state (S403). When it is determined that the cause of limiting the transit to the power saving state is detected, a user is notified of the cause and a release method thereof (S404). In addition, after the notification, in response to further receiving the instruction from the user to make the supply state of power transition to the power saving state, the supply state of power is made transition to the power saving state from the normal state (S406). |
