The container has a shelf with a wall (5) and a coating lid (2) for closing the shelf. The coating lid is swingable around a pivotal axis. One of a set of magnets (6, 6', 6'') i.e. neodymium magnets, is arranged at the wall, and the other magnets are arranged at the coating lid. Magnetic poles (7 ', 7'') are attracted by the magnets when the container is in closed state. The magnets are rotatable around a rotational axis (10). An operating device (20) actuates the magnets such that the magnetic poles are repulsive to each other.
