The present invention relates to a simulation method for selecting a position for a serial-type flexible power transmission system and, more specifically, to a simulation method for selecting a position for a serial-type flexible power transmission system capable of selecting the optimum position of a serial-type flexible power transmission system in a power system which is applied to compensate the flow in the power system. In preparation for a large-scale extension of a generator, the present invention enables installation of the serial-type flexible power transmission system at the most efficient position, thereby improving power transmission capability of a transmission corridor between a power generation complex and main demand areas in a maximum power transmission perspective.
