The present invention relates to a method for forming a metal nanowire or a metal nanomesh. More specifically, the present invention relates to a method for forming a metal nanowire or a metal nanomesh, capable of forming various metal nanowires or metal nanomeshes into a desired shape through a more simplified method. The method for forming a metal nanowire or a metal nanomesh comprises the steps of: forming, on a substrate, a thin film of a block copolymer comprising a predetermined hard segment, and a soft segment comprising one or more types of polymer repeating units selected from the group consisting of poly(meth)acrylate-based, polyalkylene oxide-based, polyvinyl pyridine-based, polystyrene-based, polydiene-based and polylactone-based repeating units; aligning the hard segment and the soft segment into a lamellar or cylindrical shape in the thin film of a block copolymer; selectively removing the soft segment; adsorbing a metal precursor on the hard segment; and removing the hard segment.
