The invention relates to the field of electrical power engineering and can be used for producing magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) electrical power generation systems based on MHD generators which generate tens or hundreds of kW of electrical power. Aim: simplified design, increased capacity, and reduced production cost of the electrical power generated. The magnetohydrodynamic electrical power generation system contains at least two MHD generators, each of which comprises a body 1(7) in the form of a de Laval nozzle, at least one injection nozzle 2(8) for supplying water or water vapour to the inlet of the de Laval nozzle, a piezoelectric element for producing water vapour, electrodes 3(9) for generating a high-voltage arc, situated at the inlet end of the de Laval nozzle, a magnet system 4(10) and a means 5(11) for picking up electrical current, situated in the divergent section of the de Laval nozzle, and an additional injection nozzle 6(12) for supplying water or water vapour. The MHD generators are arranged in succession so that when the system is operational, a working fluid exiting the divergent section of de Laval nozzle 1 of the upstream MHD generator arrives at the inlet of de Laval nozzle 7 of the downstream generator; furthermore, means 5 for picking up electrical current in the upstream MHD generator is electrically connected to electrodes 9 for generating a high-voltage arc in the downstream MHD generator and also to the electromagnetic magnet system 10 of the downstream MHD generator. |
