A user must put on and take off an assist apparatus with an elastic member in a contracted state, which made putting on and taking off the assist apparatus difficult. This assist apparatus comprises: a stretchable and wearable member that is fixed to the user's body in a removable manner; an assist unit that is provided to the wearable member, and assists the muscular strength of the user by extending and/or contracting the wearable member; an extension/contraction unit that is provided to the wearable member, and extends and contracts the wearable member; and a control unit for putting on/removing that extends the wearable member by controlling the extension/contraction unit so as to extend the extension/contraction unit while putting on and/or taking off the wearable member. |
