The connection assembly (1) has specific portion to electrically and conductively connect contact regions (14,24) of respective contact elements (10,20) with one another. The contact regions are respectively provided with plated-through holes (32,34). The plated-through holes are aligned one above the other, and partially filled with an electrically leading filling material (36). The electrically leading filling material is provided to electrically and mechanically interconnect the plated-through holes by formation of a column (38). An independent claim is included for a method for connecting two contact elements.
