976,500. Reciprocating pumps. W. & E. VEHICLES Ltd., [trading as WALES & EDWARDS], and G. W. GASH. Jan. 1, 1962 [Dec. 30, 1960], No. 44811/60. Heading F1A. [Also in Division H1] A pump for topping up a battery of cells (see Division Hl) has a nozzle 53 fitting in to a coupling member with a water receiving pipe 26 and a return pipe 57. Water running from the return pipe indicates that the topping up operation is complete. Piston 35 draws water from a reservoir through pipe 58 via a non return valve 59. The pump also carries spring loaded balls 54 arranged on a circle and sealing the ends of pipes 24 when the pump is inserted in the coupling member. These balls seal the vents to each cell (see Division H1). |
