PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce downtime of a sheet conveying device due to occurrence of a jam in the device.SOLUTION: The sheet conveying device includes: conveying means for conveying the sheet along a predetermined conveying path; jam detection means 51 for detecting occurrence of the jam in the conveying path; storage means 53 for storing a predetermined take-out position as a position at which a remaining sheet is easy to be taken out that remains in the conveying path when the jam occurs; and conveyance control means 52 for controlling conveyance of the remaining sheet with the conveying means so that when the occurrence of the jam is detected by the jam detection means, the remaining sheet that remains at an upstream side of the conveying path from a detected position of the jam stops at the take-out position located at an upstream side of the position of the jam. |
