A chair (1) is provided with: a leg body (10); a backrest supporting body (20) which is supported by the leg body (10); a backrest rear section supporting member (40) which is supported by the backrest supporting body (20); and a backrest (50) which is supported by the backrest rear section supporting member (40) and which supports the back of a seated person. The backrest (50) has: a flexible stretched material (51) which receives the back of the seated person and which can be displaced following the back; and a pair of vertical frame sections (53A, 53B) which are mounted to the stretched material (51), have lower ends connected to the back rest rear section support section (40), can twist and deform according to force applied from the stretched material (51), and are separated in the widthwise direction. Also, this chair can have: an upper frame section (52) which is connected to the backrest rear section supporting member (40); and a pair of vertical frame sections (53A, 53B) which are connected to both ends of the upper frame section (52) in the widthwise direction. The backrest rear section supporting member (40) can have: a lower connection section (41) which is connected to the backrest supporting body (20); a deformable section (42) which extends upward from the lower connection section (41) and which can elastically deform according to a load acting on the backrest (50) from the back of the seated person; and an upper connection section (43) which extends upward from the upper end of the deformable section (42) and which is connected at the upper end thereof to the backrest (50). |
