<p>This invention relates to a method and system for unfolding k-space data points, acquired during an accelerated MRI scan that overlapped and collected multiple k- space data points simultaneously, in order to generate desired image data, said method comprising the steps of: (a) obtaining tailored signal excitation modules by using RF excitation pulses in combination with one or more magnetic field gradients; (b) acquiring overlapped k-space data by using a pulse sequence that employs said obtained tailored signal excitation modules, which overlap distinct k- space points; (c) unfolding said acquired overlapped k-space data through a data reconstruction process that utilizes coil spatial sensitivity profiles of multiple RF acquisition coils in order to obtain unfolded k-space data; and (d) performing a Fourier transformation along one or more axes of said un-folded k-space data to generate said desired image data.</p> |
