PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transfer body for an optical film, in which in spite of using a thin and inexpensive transparent film substrate, the transparent film substrate has little deformation or generation of wrinkles and good release property between a transfer layer and the transparent film substrate is achieved.SOLUTION: A transfer body for an optical film is provided, which has good release property between a transfer layer and a transparent film substrate. The transfer body for an optical film is constituted by: a transparent film substrate 21; a quarter-wave plate molded resin layer 10 which is formed on the transparent film substrate 21 and has a surface subjected to a molding process; a quarter-wave plate retardation layer 8 which is aligned by an alignment regulation force of the quarter-wave plate molded resin layer 10; and a release layer 301 made of a UV-curable resin which is formed between the transparent film substrate 21 and the quarter-wave plate molded resin layer 10.
