PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve both of prevention of quality degradation in formed layers and improvement in productivity, in a method and device for manufacturing a magnetic recording medium.SOLUTION: In a manufacturing method of the magnetic recording medium, a magnetic recording layer, a protective layer, and a lubrication layer are formed on a lamination object in this order. After the protective layer is formed in a deposition apparatus, the lamination object is sealed in a transfer container unit without bringing the lamination object into contact with the atmosphere, the transfer container unit is transferred to a vapor-phase lubrication deposition apparatus, the lamination object which has been sealed in the transfer container unit is taken out from the transfer container unit without bringing into contact with the atmosphere, and a lubrication layer is formed on the lamination object with a vapor-phase lubrication deposition method in the vapor-phase lubrication deposition apparatus. |
