PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an acetate derivative as a synthetic intermediate of atorvastatin, a novel compound capable of efficiently manufacturing the atorvastatin, a manufacturing method of the novel compound, an efficient manufacturing method of the acetate derivative using the novel compound, an efficient manufacturing method of atorvastatin using the novel compound, and a recovery method of an asymmetric ligand capable of recovering the asymmetric ligand used in manufacturing the atorvastatin.SOLUTION: There is provided a compound represented by the general formula (1), where Rrepresents either a protective group of a hydroxyl group or a hydrogen atom, and Rand Reach independently represent a protective group of an amino group.
