PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device capable of preventing the generation of an image noise, when a fixing unit is rocked in a direction orthogonal to the conveyance direction of a recording paper and to provide an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: The fixing device includes a fixing unit 162 including a fixing roller 200 and a pressure member (a pressure belt 210 and a pressing pad 220) pressurizing the fixing roller 200, to form a fixing nip part NP and fixing a toner image on a recording paper S, a rocking part rocking the fixing unit 162 in a paper orthogonal direction, a pressure state changing part changing the pressure state of the pressure member to the fixing roller 200, and a control part 101 controlling the pressure state changing part, so that when the fixing unit 162 is rocked by the rocking part, the peak position of the distribution of pressure acting on the recording paper S passing through the fixing nip part NP in the paper orthogonal direction is moved according to the movement direction of the fixing unit 162. |
