The medical instrument (10) is accommodated with heat-emitting element (14) in inner surface. An outer side of shaft (12) is provided with heat-dissipating element (38) in proximal end region (37). A circumferential surface of heat-dissipating element is surrounded by sleeve-like handle portion (50) whose inner surface is provided with heat-reflecting portion (54). The heat-dissipating element is provided with opening on both sides so that cooling air (64) flows through the heat dissipating element in axial direction of handle portion.
