An organic light emitting device and a method for manufacturing the same are disclosed. The organic light emitting device disclosed comprises a supporting substrate; a high refractive index layer; a first transparent electrode; an organic light emitting layer; and a second transparent electrode, wherein the high refractive index layer includes at least one layer having a refractive index greater than the refractive index of the supporting layer and scatters the incident light from the organic light emitting layer.
