PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reversible seat belt tensioner that has a more compact structure on the whole by arranging an electric motor and a belt shaft having a drive wheel and a drive shaft at mutually different positions, can be arranged even in a narrow installation space, and also can reduce noise generated during application of tension to a belt.SOLUTION: A drive shaft 9 is coupled to a drive wheel 10 and/or an electric motor 2 through a helical gear unit. The use of the helical gear unit provides an advantage in arranging rotary shafts as engagement components mutually at an angle different from 90°. Consequently, the components are arranged mutually at an arbitrary angle to obtain a compact structure and an arrangement advantageous in using a usable free space. |
