<p>ELECTROMECHANICAL SURGICAL APPARATUS INCLUDING WIRE ROUTING CLOCK SPRING Abstract An electromechanical surgical system (10) is disclosed including a hand-held surgical instrument (100), an end effector (400) configured to perform at least one function, and a shaft assembly (200) arranged for selectively interconnecting the end effector (400) and the surgical instrument (100). The shaft assembly (200) includes a linkage (500) having a proximal housing (502) and a distal housing (504) at least partially received within the proximal housing (502). The distal housing (504) is rotatable relative to the proximal housing (502) and configured to selectively interconnect the end effector (400) to the shaft assembly (200). The shaft assembly (200) further includes a wire (600) extending through the linkage (500) having a central portion (604) disposed within an annular groove (520) defined between the proximal (502) and distal housings (504). The central portion (604) of the wire (600) is annularly wound within the annular groove (520) to define a coil (604).
