PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a film fuel battery (hydrogen or direct methanol fuel battery) arranged so as to appropriately bond between layers of a multilayer film structure of a film electrode assembly.SOLUTION: The method comprises: applying a coating material to a porous substrate 1 (Sub1) having chemical stability against an acid and an organic solvent, a heat resistance up to 350°C, a bending strength of 30 MPa or larger, an elastic coefficient of 9,000 MPa or larger, and an open porosity of at least 50% by means of a jet method, a printing method (e.g. screen printing, relief printing, intaglio printing, tampon printing, ink jet printing, or stencil printing), a screen method, a CVD-method, a lithography method or a transfer method, thereby forming thin films (Sub1, Sub2) each composed of a porous electrode layer, and a selective separation layer (film) composed of an ion-conducting electrolytic layer. The layers have required functions (ion conductivity, electron conductivity, a hydrophobic property, a hydrophilic property, a contact property, a good adhering property, a tensile strength, an adapted thermal expansion coefficient, a porosity or compactness) respectively. |
