PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new valve-plasty catheter.SOLUTION: A valve-plasty catheter has a dog-bone-shaped balloon accompanied by a semi-extensible trunk part having a smaller diameter, and non-extensible bulbous end regions each having a larger diameter. The balloon is positioned in the center over a valve, and the trunk part abuts on a valve ring. One bulbous region plays a role to excessively extend a valve cusp, and the other assists stabilization of a balloon position to reduce wandering. As a fluid flows into the balloon until the trunk part comes into contact with the valve ring, the diameter of the semi-extensible trunk part increases. Pressure inside the balloon per unit transmission volume has a larger gradient after the contact with the valve ring than before the gradient of a pressure-volume curve is changed. Diameters of the balloon and the valve ring are determined at an inflection point when the balloon comes into contact with the valve ring. |
